The commercial I did see?

Unlike some geek-minded people, I do care about sports. I was a collegiate athlete, I'm a lifelong Redskins and Capitals fan, and I occasionally care about baseball. However, except for checking up on the score and catching the last few minutes (including Eli's amazing last drive), I mostly ignored the Super Bowl for a few reasons:
  1.  I can't stand the sight of Tom Brady. He makes Brett Favre almost not the personification of evil.
  2. In the same way that I'm such of elections featuring a Bush or a Clinton, I feel the same way about Super Bowls featuring a Brady or a Manning.
  3. The commercials haven't been as good as they should be for years, ever since Nipplegate.
  4. The Wire is on tonight, and I've been caught up in a Law and Order marathon since I got back from the office (three cheers for overtime).
However, there is one commercial I saw today that knocked my socks off. It's a political ad, but just like the candidate, it's unlike any I've seen in my lifetime.

The Patriots lost tonight. Evil has been defeated. Know hope. Please vote on Tuesday.

I started today out somewhat depressed and that totally made me feel better.

I've never had a campaign ad do that.
