Check out this totally awesome news from Verizon Wireless

BASKING RIDGE, NJ ? The best overall customer experience in the wireless industry just got better with the introduction today of Verizon Wireless’ new customer-friendly account management features. Beginning today, new and existing Family SharePlan® customers can add or combine lines across the country on one account so that they can share minutes with friends and family members even if they live in another state or region; receive just one bill for all multiple wireless and Verizon landline numbers across the country; and activate new lines of service for a relative, friend or associate in any other part of the company’s nationwide footprint. The ability to share minutes on different lines regardless of area code on the same plan is unique in the industry.

Really? "Unique in the industry"? The landline, part, maybe. But let's see how many of their wireless competitors are really at a loss. Give me a minute here...let's see how unique it really is.
Actually, it's more unique than I thought.
AT&T says that you can have numbers in different area codes, but a different state is impossible.

T-Mobile says "Sure!" But you'd have to create the account with numbers in the same area code and then change one to the different area code, which costs $10. That seems a little involved. Also retarded.

Sprint, however, can do it, no questions or shenanigans. In truth, I knew this from experience but wanted to double check. Sprint has had this ability for years. So why didn't they market this? Maybe they're dumb. Or maybe, like me, they didn't think it was a big deal.

I don't know about anyone else, but I just kind of assumed that in the days of no long distance and no more "local calling zones" that sharing minutes across state lines was possible.
Am I alone in thinking that T-Mo and AT&T need to make a change and that Sprint actually had it right from jump street? Let me know.
