Listening to Bryan Caplan's talk on his book, The Myth of the Rational Voter... He's an economist, and they live in a bit of a bubble. Anyway, he said some pretty outrageous things, and I hopefully will have an audio clip in a bit and pictures.
Now I'm sitting in a panel on user revolts, right now the topic is Digg and the AACS key. Now there is a speaker about user revolts on Second Life. Ugh. Maybe this panel isn't as interesting as I thought...I'm sorry, but Second Life makes my eyes glaze over...IP rights in Second Life? They're not even mentioning the issue of real taxes on virtual property, and there is an actual Congressional economist working on a report on that. Does she know that?
Oh, is stealing an avatar really stealing an identity?
Now we're talking about Metafilter. Not sure how there are revolts since you automatically have privileges if you pay your $5.
Anyway, more to come from this once I fully formulate my thoughts...more pictures coming soon too at the flickr stream.
