SXSW Morning-so-far: Kids online panel

Interesting, albeit jargon-filled (and artfully moderated) panel discussion featuring Anastasia Goodstein from YPulse and a bunch of kids. There was alot of talk about how they like to use MySpace and other social networking sites, but not alot of talk about whether or not they understood that their content that they generate is "forever" and creates a pervasive record for future employers, schools, etc. The panel was a bunch of kids, some with things to talk about, others not so much.

The Panel

I spoke with Goodstein, the moderator, and she had some good stuff to say:

Also, Jason Toney of Disney Online and I talked for a minute about copyright, control of content, and why Disney would rather you watch it than control how and why.

Best question of the day so far goes to this guy, Michael Rice, who asked the panel of kids:
"Do you ever go outside?"

More to come later, especially if I make it to BarCamp.
